USHERS: The responsibility of ushers includes greeting parishioners as they arrive at mass, collecting sacrificial givings, and to provide assistance throughout the mass to parishioners.
Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes you, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me, welcomes the ONE who sent me." ~Matthew 10:40
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: The sharing of the Body and Blood of Christ brings us into communion with Him and with each other. Therefore, you should be truly present to others as you share with them in the Act of Communion. Education is provided.
"The liturgy 'is in itself a stream flowing from God's great goodness; it does not merely teach, it leads to love.' Your gracious lesson and example as a Minister of Communion will lead others to generous service to their neighbors."
LECTORS: The lector has a responsibility to the whole community in a very clear way, since he/she will be the instrument through whom the people hear God’s Word at Mass each week.
The Lord has given me a well trained-tongue, that I may know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them. ~Isaiah 50:4
ALTAR SERVERS: Young parishioners provide assistance to the presiding priest in an orderly fashion. This special ministry allows the youth of the parish to help celebrate mass by serving God and one another.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewarts of God's varied grace. ~1 Peter 4:10
MUSIC: This ministry adds fellowship and inspiration, by song, to others who celebrate the Eucharist.
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the ... instruments of music, ... that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God." II Chronicles 5:13, 14
SACRISTANS: 9:30AM Sunday and 9:00AM Tuesday
The sacristans insure that the chalice, cups, linens, etc. are set up properly for Mass and that liturgical ministers are available.
O Dearly beloved Word of God, teach me to be generous, to serve Thee as Thou dost deserve, to give without counting the cost, to fight without fretting at my wounds, to labor without seeking rest, to spend myself without looking for any reward other than that of knowing that I do Thy holy will. Amen.
