MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Church of St. Anthony, are a faith community in the Roman Catholic tradition.  We gather together to bear witness to our beliefs.  We are accepting of all, united in our diversity.  We serve each other in the caring spirit of social justice and friendship.  Our liturgies reflect and enhance our faith.  We desire to share our Christian values through active participation in our faith community and by reaching out to those in need.

To the faith community of St. Anthony,Carnation:

The Lord be with you!

As your incoming Priest Administrator, I would like to humbly introduce myself to you. I am Rev. Roman Roy Chavez Baroma, Jr.You can call me Fr. Roy.

I was born in the Philippines on November 28, 1969. As I was approaching the age of 13, I entered the seminary and after 14 straight years in seminary formation, I was ordained a priest. So, I spent my high school and college years where I studied philosophy, theology and spirituality in the seminary. Following this I spent a year ministering both in and outside a parish. I was ordained a priest on April 3, 1997 for the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines.

As a priest, I served pastorally for ten years in the Philippines; and presently I have spent almost 4 years in the Archdiocese of Seattle serving at first the Tri-Parish community of St. Edward, St. George and St. Paul in Southeast Seattle as a Parochial Vicar and most recently the Tri-Church communities of Sacred Heart, St. Mary and St. Joseph in Battleground in the role of Priest Administrator.

Indeed, I love and enjoy my ministry here in the Archdiocese of Seattle. I am grateful to God and to the Archbishop for my new assignment here with you. In the name of mission, I have come to work with you in the vineyard of the Lord.

May the Good Lord bless us all!

In Christ,  Fr. Roy

Fr. Roy Baroma, Pastor
